Frequency of the Board Meetings and Academic Advisory Body |
The board meetings
are held on annual basis in general. Meeting is also convened at any time whenever
it is necessary to take policy decisions for the betterment of Institute. The
academic advisory body members meet once a month to discuss all academic issues,
for the over all improvement of institute. The issues discussed are quality of
teaching, training programmes, faculty improvement programme, placement activities,
special personality development programme for improving the skills of students,
updating the laboratories & library requirements and ensuring maintenance
of standards of education and transparency at all levels.
Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students
in academic affairs/improvements | The
Institute has drawn a well structured programme for continuous updation of professional
skills besides the prescribed syllabus. To implement this the Institute is equipped
with latest softwares, equipments, machines so that the students are updated constantly
to meet the requirement of the industry. This has resulted in a very good placement
of students in high profile institute and industries. Similarly the faculty is
also updating their academic qualifications by pursuing M.Tech. & Ph.D. Programme
They are also guiding student projects of high standard, which are industry oriented.
This has become more interesting and result oriented because CII has recognized
this Institute as CII-TDB Technology Network.
Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance |
Good democratic
procedures and good governance is the back bone of this Institute from day one.
The procedures adopted is that at the beginning of every new academic year, coordinators
and conveners of various committees and their members are designated by consensus,
after complete discussion as per the policies laid by the governing body &
the academic advisory body. Programme is chalked out for the whole year, for academic,
cultural activities, co-curricular activities and also for staff welfare, which
includes women welfare, minority welfare, and weaker sections of the society.
As a result of this, there is total transparency and there has been no incident
of any complaint during the fast five years. Even the ragging menace has been
eradicated in this Institute by novel method which has resulted in the over all
personality development and close links between the seniors and the juniors.

Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students |
For grievance
redressal in respect of faculty and staff, a Committee constituted by the director
includes member of the faculty, dean administration, and also a member of the
management. Besides a separate committee is constituted for women welfare and
minority welfare but till date there is no grievance on records, which has to
be disposed. For students, a proctorial board is constituted every year which
comprises of H.O.D.s and senior faculty members, both male and female and they
attend to the grievances of the students. Based on their recommendation director
issues the orders or refers to the management if it does not fall within his purview.
