RULES FOR ADMISSIONS

Admission to First Year:
The Entrance Examination for admission to First Year of Four B.Tech. courses offered at the Institutions affiliated to U.P. Technical University Lucknow is conducted by U.P. Technical University, Lucknow as per Govt. Order 4514/2003 Solah 1-10(1) 2001 dated 03.12.2003 and is known as State Entrance Examination, Uttar Pradesh Technical University (SEE-UPTU) (Formerly known as UPSEAT). Direct Admission to Second Year (For Diploma holder/B.Sc Graduates with Mathmatics)
The eligible candidates (Refer section 3.3) seeking direct admission to IInd year of B.Tech in institutions affiliated to UPTU are required to submit the application forms to registrar, U.P. Technical University, SEE-UPTU, Lucknow by the last date. Such candidates need not apper in the entrance examination. The merit list for admission will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained by them in the Diploma examination.
Such lateral entry for diploma holders will be allowed in the second year third semester. Seats in addition to the sanctioned intake at first year level are limited to maximum of 10% and are reserved for such candidates.

Admission to NRI Candidates:
NRI candidates, who possess prescribed qualifications, may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake in State funded/Private Engineering College/Institutions. Such candidates should submit the application forms to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow but need not appear in the entrance examination. Separate counseling of such candidates will be done by U.P. Technical University.

Eligibility Criteria:
Admission in an institution affiliated to UPTU will be on the basis of merit, eligibility of the candidate & seat option given by him/her at the time of counseling, No Transfer from one institution to another is permission on any ground whatsoever after allotment of seat/branch

Admission to First Year:
The minimum academic qualification to appear in state Entrance Examination of Uttar Pradesh Technical University is 10+2 standard or equivalent. Those candidates appearing in 10+2 final examination may also appear in SEE-UPTU subject to the condition that he/she will pass 10+2 examination before counseling for admission take palace. The group and combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to different courses shall be as under:-
Course    Compulsory Subjects      anyone of the following Subjects
B.TECH.
              Physics & Mathematics   Chemistry,    Biotechnology,      Computer Science,    Biology

Admission to Second Year (For Diploma Holders):
Candidates who have passed Diploma/B.Sc Graduate in Mathmatics (with minimum 60% marks) recognized by the U.P. Board of Technical Education in any branch of Engineering/Technology are eligible for admission to Second year in any branch of Engg./Technology.
The admission are open to students who or who or whose parents are domicile of U.P. State only, except for NRI/Foreign National/PIO’s.
There in no age limit for admission to College/Institutions affiliated to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow.

MBA:
The State Entrance Exam, Uttar Pradesh Technical University is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow (UPTU) for admission to first year of two year full time Management Courses offered by the Institute. This entrance examination is conducted for admission to UP Quota seats only.

Eligibility for Admission to First Year of MBA:
For admission to first year of MBA in any institution affiliated to U.P. Technical University, a candidate must have passed three year degree course from any recognized University. For further details, log on to www.uptu.ac.in.

ACADEMIC REGULATIONS:

Uttar Pradesh Technical University Regulation Requirements for Completion of a Semester Attendance:
1. every student is required to attend all the lectures, tutorials, practical and other prescribed curricular and co-curricular activities. The attendance can be condoned up to 25% on medical grounds of for other genuine reasons beyond the control of students. (See Clause 3.1 of U.P.T.U)
2. A further relaxation of attendance up to 15% for a student can be given by Head of institution/college provided that he/she has been absent with prior permission of the Head of the institution/college for the reasons acceptable to him.. (See Clause 3.2 of U.P.T.U)
3. No student will be allowed to appear in the end semester examination if he/she does not satisfy the overall average attendance requirements of Clause Nos. 3.1, and 3.2.
4. The attendance shall be counted from the start of the academic session or date of admission in the Institute whichever is later.
